Mental Health Perceptions

Group 6-3

For many students, spending the year with COVID felt like being on a sinking ship, desperately searching for a lifeboat and perhaps choosing one that falters when lowered. Asking 2,002 college students at 116 higher ed institutions (250 from two-year colleges, with the rest at four-year colleges and universities), this survey asked the degree to which students felt anxious, worried or scared a year into the pandemic. Learn if student mental health was a big problem and whether many students accessed campus counseling services. This survey was conducted by Inside Higher Ed and College Pulse and presented by Kaplan and fielded from March 15 to March 25, 2021.

Key Questions Include:

● How would you rate your mental health today?

● How would you rate your college’s response to student mental health and wellness?

 ● Did you engage in the counseling services offered at your college?

 ● How would you rate the counseling you received?
