Students Feeling Understood

Group 6-3

The latest Student Voice survey from Inside Higher Ed and College Pulse, presented by Kaplan, found a significant percentage of students agree that employees at their college or university “see” them.

Explore the trends related to individual students’ “stories” and what faculty, staff and administrators need to know about those stories to better support students in their learning and life journeys in this month’s results.

College student data was collected from January 5 to 10, through the College Pulse mobile app and web portal, and weighted to be nationally representative of two- and four-year college student populations.

Key Questions Include:

● How does a student’s pre-college experiences and identity shape the challenges they face and connections they make in their postsecondary education?

● What demographic factors influence the degree to which students were more likely to disagree that their college understands the connections they have to their family and home communities?

 ● What campus professionals did students most identify as best understanding the personal challenges they face due to race, gender identity, socioeconomic class or childhood experiences?
